A walk with the Connolly's! We had a great time in November walking in the pasture & running with the kids to the creek. Three generations on this day. Uncle Bob joined us! As most of you know... Our cousins Neal & Elisa now live in Mamaw & Papaw's home with their three children. What a blessing that will always be for the Connolly's. I think Mamaw's house was my favorite place on earth. Annie feels the same way. One of My favorite memories is waking up at mamaw's and hearing Mama, Eunice, & Mamaw cooking breakfast. Smelling the wonderful biscuits & sausage & listening to everyone talk & laugh. Mamaw or mama would sneak Annie out of my room so I could sleep in for a minute. I never slept too long because I could not wait to join them. Most of our favorite memories were made at Mamaw's house! We were so lucky to have had our grandparents for so long!

New Years Day 07 @ the Beach!!!

Happy Birthday & Welcome to the urgent care Kevin!!!

Happy Birthday Kevin!!! For Kevin's 38th birthday he decided to try a few stunts. He was up in the attic working on our cable (Poppy was not available for his usual supervision). Our dearMercy & my friend Tami & I were having lunch at the kitchen table when it sounded like the roof was caving in. We all ran for cover. As we entered the den, we saw Kevin sliding through the ceiling! He later drove himself to the urgent care while we cleaned up some of the mess. He fractured his clavical & seperated his shoulder. He is doing fine. He is most upset because he cannot catch for Annie these days. He has follow up appt on Tues. we will keep you posted. The ever amazing Poppy has already fixed our ceiling! This was our 3rd trip to the E.R./Urgent care so far in 07. Charlie burned his hand at church in January. (2nd degree). We bandaged and medicated for a few weeks. He had to miss his first basketball game. The coach has nick named him Charlie "hot hands" Glover!!! Two weeks later Annie hit him in the head with a nerf bat. Only Annie can hit you in the head with a nerf bat and crack your head open. She came running in and said "Mom, Charlie needs a bandaid!!!" When he came through the door he was covered in blood...hands, jacket & his hair was soaked in blood. We washed him up had dinner, but two hours later the bleeding had not stopped. We headed for the E.R. for a few staples. He was very brave. He has come along way from all those crazy fears he had. They are not completely gone, but he is aware of them and really tries to be brave.

Preston, Charlie, & Poppy-Fishing Trip

Poppy took Charlie and his good friend Preston on a fishing trip - Friday, 2/2/07. Charlie had off from school, but Preston did not! Shhh...don't tell Preston's teachers he skipped school for a fishing trip. They had a great time - with Preston making his first Julington Creek catch, and he learned to drive the boat (w/ Charlie's help of course). The three of them look forward to many more trips - who knows - they have off on President's day - 2/19/07.

Personalities

Yes...this is an old picture...I think it was April 2005...early spring excursion to the beach. But Laura and I love it, as it truly captures the personalities of our children - each in their own special way. We'll leave it at that. :)

Charlie/Poppy Fishing Trip

Everyone knows Poppy is the king of creek fishing here in Mandarin/Julington Creek. Well, he is slowly bringing Charlie along, teaching him all the secrets. Here are a couple of pics from a recent trip. Charlie showing off the catch, and then happily enjoying fresh fish for lunch.

Slacker Update

Finally a new update. We have definitely been slacking on this blogging thing, but oh so busy in all other areas. Here are a few pictures of the kids from our trip to North Carolina in Nov. 06, and one of our little rock stars on Christmas morning. Yes, we know - gorgeous children-must be all Laura. Thanksgiving was very good, and Christmas was extra fun - but of course we all received much more than we needed. Laura did her usual wonderful job of playing hostess/making everyone feel welcome, and I (Kevin) probably did too much complaining about the "mess". We are now moving furiously into the New Year - Annie & Charlie are playing Upward Basketball in Jan/Feb, which overlaps with Annie's second job - softball. Charlie will try his second season at T-Ball. They both continue to do well in school, but I did feel dumb the other day when I had to go online to refresh myself on some of Annie's 4th grade math homework (I knew we'd never use some of that stuff ever again). Laura is doing a great job with the kids, working at a MPP, keeping her jewelry busy going, and of course, her real purpose on earth - which is to rid the world of mean people and the injustice they can cause. I (Kevin) continue to do a good job at populating the world with Citi credit cards, help coach the kids ball teams, and continue to strive to be a good dad & husband. Lucy continues to rule the roost - if you couldn't tell from the pictures, but we are enjoying watching our little one blosom before our eyes. The final thing I'll add - you'd probably know all of this & more, if we bothered to send out our Christmas cards. We still have time right?

Halloween with all our friends! The kids had a blast as always. Halloween is a great time in our neighborhood. We grill out in our front yards, & all the kids trick or treat together. Our friends the Skinners came over for the 2nd year in a row. I hope they are making this a tradition. We also enjoyed having the Sandiford girls over. Nathan & Jared Skinner, Annie, Charlie, Faith & Haley Sandiford & Lucy Annie with her friend Brooke Sandiford. Ninja Charlie with all the girls!

Out to dinner for Claude's 1st Birthday! This was actually September 26th. We are a little behind with this post. Annie & Kevin were absent due to a ball game.

Go Braves!

Charlie had his first T-Ball Game! He plays for the Julington Creek Braves. I have NO idea who won the game, but they all played great! Charlie listens very closely and is very interested in making sure the ball is going to the correct place before it leaves his glove. This does not always result in the quickest of outs! He definitely gets an A+ for attention and effort. We do need some work with our speed. Annie and Lucy were very supportive! Annie decorated her face and Lucy's. The Glover Girls were not lacking in spirit! By the way that is the name of Annie's team this fall...SPIRIT!

Soooo Much Charlie!

Charlie celebrates birthday #6! You know how we love to drag out a birthday! Charlie, Annie & Kevin went to breakfast before school, Lucy and I went to school for a picnic lunch with Charlie, Poppy was waiting after school with a new fishing rod and McDonalds (casting lessons in the front yard), and we finished the day by going to FastBoys for dinner with all of the family. Friday he took some of his best buddies for Pizza and a movie. They went to see the new movie "Everyone's Hero" It was great and all of the boys were wonderful! Charlie had a blast! The birthday week is now complete! We are off to his first T-Ball game. I am sure pictures will soon follow. Yes Annie does still live here! We love her more than ever. She is still wonderful, kind, funny , and atheletic. She has not had a birthday or a ball game etc...her season begins on Monday with a scrimmage. I promise to update soon with some photos of Annie.

Charlie Boy!

Charlie is playing T-Ball! Finally he gets to play ball too! he is loving it and is trying so hard. He pays such close attention to everything. He has lost his first teeth. The bottom two have come out just before his 6th birthday. If you look closely, you can see the first one. He lost the 2nd tooth about a week later. He will be six on the 20th. Hopefully he will get his own helmet for a gift. This one is Annie's. Yes it is too big, yes it has her name air brushed across the back... but he has not complained. He is thrilled to have it. I don't think he has noticed the whole in the back where the ponytail is suppose to hang out! He plays for the Julington Creek Braves!

Lucy will start her first day of preschool next week. Yesterday she went to a Tea party for one of her best buddies "Chi Chi" Charley. Lucy, Charley, & Delaney have been best buddies for over two years now. Lucy will be in the Two's. The cut off here is September 1st. Lucy misses it by a week. The only thing I hate about that,is she won't be in the same class with her buddies. They will all be in three year old classes.

It's been awhile/School Starts!

Ok...it has been awhile I know. Hope to get back into the blogging habit. A lot has gone on since the last post. Some good-some not so good. Won't try and cover it all, but will try and post of few things in the next few days. I'll start today with some good. Charlie and Annie started school the first week of August. Charlie is now in kindergarten, and loves it! The 4th grade for Annie has been a whirl-wind so far. This is the FCAT year, and they definitely hit the ground running in 4th grade. Laura and I are spending a good amount of time with her on homework, and she is starting to get into the swing of things now. They actually started on two different days. Here are a few pictures from the first day - I do enjoy my job of dropping them both off each morning.
